FÍS Film Awards: Cork School wins Film of the Year

The 19th annual FÍS Film Awards, held on February 12th, was a roaring success. Hosted by Sinéad Kennedy, it was a heartwarming celebration of creativity and imagination, where young filmmakers were recognized for their outstanding talent and storytelling. The atmosphere was electric as the nominees entered The Helix in DCU, eager to share their unique stories with one another. The FÍS Awards not only showcased brilliant films but also served as a clear reminder of the power of creativity in shaping young minds. With awards in every category—from Best Editing to Best Acting—the event culminated in the prestigious Film of the Year award, which went to Anne Frank by the pupils of Shanbally National School. The students’ and teachers’ joy and excitement ensured that the event was truly uplifting, leaving everyone feeling inspired and hopeful for the future of storytelling.
