This short course provides an introduction to e-tutoring and an overview of the role of e-tutor in the context of summer courses, which carry an entitlement of extra personal vacation (EPV) days for primary teachers.
It is also suitable for anyone who is undertaking an e-tutoring role for the first time. The course was developed by PDST Technology in Education in partnership with DCU’s International Centre for Innovation and Workplace Learning.

The course content will provide guidance and helpful strategies for e-tutors to facilitate online professional learning by teachers. It is broken down into five modules, as follows:
While not a prerequisite, prior experience of participating in an online course will be an advantage.
A good broadband internet connection and a laptop, desktop pc or tablet (with the latest version of Chrome, Firefox or Safari installed).
A course certificate is provided upon completion of this course.
You may be able to consider this course for Croke Park hours, subject to school management approval, particularly in relation to up to ten ‘Croke Park’ hours that may be allowed for potential individual/small group use (Circular 0042/2016 Primary and Circular 045/2016 Post-primary).
