This course will provide you with the knowledge, resources and confidence to teach about cyberbullying and deal with cyberbullying incidents as they arise. The course has been designed to inform teachers and school leaders about the issue of cyberbullying, outline a school’s role in creating an anti-cyberbullying culture and promoting pupils’ wellbeing, including online wellbeing.

You will gain a greater understanding of what constitutes cyberbullying and its effects, explore ways to promote a preventative whole school approach to cyberbullying in your own school and learn the key steps involved in how to respond to, and deal with, a cyberbullying incident. You will also have the opportunity to practice integrating the teaching of cyberbullying and use relevant online safety resources available to support the teaching of cyberbullying prevention and online wellbeing in SPHE.

This course was developed by PDST (now Oide) Technology in Education in collaboration with our Webwise team.

Note: the course team was shortlisted for a 2023 Learning Award.
