Teacher Digital Competence and Online Courses
6th November 2024
As a post-primary teacher interested in using digital technology for teaching and learning, you may have come across various frameworks, planning templates and strategies which address teacher digital competence. You may even have used one of the self-reflection tools, such as Selfie for Teachers, for identifying your own strengths and areas for development.
Key teacher digital competence areas
‘Digital Resources’ and ‘Assessment’ are two of the six groups of educator competences identified and described in the European Framework for the Digital Competence of Educators (DigCompEdu). Being competent in these areas is also essential for addressing the teaching and learning dimension of the Digital Learning Framework, notably Domain 3, which concerns ‘Teachers’ Individual Practice’.
If you are interested in improving your own competency in these areas, Oide Technology in Education provides short, online courses during term-time which will help you achieve this. Please read on for details.
