ICT and Music
Video Overview
A Music Teacher uses technology to benefit teaching and learning. She uses Movie Maker to help her class develop a visual and aural understanding of songs by creating videos for the piece. The class also use Audacity to record songs in sections before compiling it together – piano, solo, harmony.
Description
Music teacher explains how she uses ICT in her 2nd year and 5th year class groups. Pupils use Movie Maker to plan and create videos representing a song of their choice. Pupils then share the videos with each other. Teacher explains how this is beneficial to all students as the technology puts every pupil on the same page. Audacity is used in 5th year to record a song. Pupils record instrument and vocal pieces separately before putting them together. Piano keyboard app is used in class to teach pupils to recognise notes.
