Story Writing using tablet devices
Video Overview
A 4th class teacher from Mary Mother of Hope Senior National School, describes using tablets in a writing lesson with 4th class.
Description
Pupils use a story creator app Toontastic to animate their stories. Pupils work in groups to develop their characters, setting and plot before bringing their creations to life using technology. A number of writing lessons precede the creation of the Toontastic story. They use iPads which are shared amongst the groups.
There are many pupils in the class whose first language is not English, and the teacher finds that the use of technology supports their language development as it engages them and brings their stories to life in a visual way.
