Description

Donegal Education Centre supports local schools in the county with ICT in the classroom for the purpose of teaching and learning. The Oide Professional Learning Leader met with teachers to discuss where the needs were and to establish areas for focus and development. Blogging, assessment using digital tools and active methodologies were the areas of focus. Each school picked an area and tested out how they could implement ICT and feedback findings and outcomes to one another. Teachers shared their best practices, resources, ideas and strategies using the online community Edmodo. Google Drive was also used to keep communication open between teachers. The app Show Me was used also. The teacher uploaded content to a personal blog, provided instruction and students could access as needed. Edpuzzle was used to edit and crop videos for lessons. Teachers sought guidance from the Oide website to source resources and guidance for lessons that include ICT.
